Nakatomi Shoten
The Nakamise, the road leading to Kannon-sama after passing through the red Kaminarimon gate. Located on the left side near the center of the street is an energetic shop selling fried manju (a type of sweet made with bean paste).
The main store was founded in 1924 as a Japanese-style confectionery shop, and changed its business to a soba noodle shop about 30 years ago. The current owner could not forget the “Aged-manju” that he had when he was a child, so he opened the store in Nakamise, seeking to further improve the taste by utilizing his “Tempura” technique.
